Registration must be completed by Wednesday, August 28, 2019. There is a $190 registration fee that will cover 15 chamber rehearsals with a chamber coach, two masterclasses with guest clinicians, Chamber Music Society of Logan student tickets (3 concerts), one ticket to a Fry Street Quartet performance and a CMP t-shirt.


  • Participating students must be in 6th grade or older for the 2019-2020 school year
  • Students are strongly encouraged to participate in school orchestra program
  • Students must have at least 2 years of playing experience on their string instrument
  • All students participating in CMP are required to take private lessons
  • Students should play at Suzuki Book 3 level or above
  • Students must audition on their instrument to demonstrate playing level and ability
Students will be assigned to a chamber ensemble and coach based on playing level, age, school, and program availability. Students are encouraged to sign up in pre-arranged groups, but it is not required. All grouping requests will be considered, but cannot be guaranteed.

Step 3: Prepare the following for your audition:
  • Solo piece (equivalent to Suzuki Book 3 or higher, but does not need to be Suzuki repertoire)
  • Two or Three octave scale of your choice
  • You will be asked to sight-read
Step 4: Print the teacher recommendation form and have your private teacher complete and return to you in a SEALED ENVELOPE. Bring this envelope with you to your audition.

Step 5: If you are accepted into the Chamber Music Project, you are committing to attend 15 rehearsals (starting in September) plus the following REQUIRED events. Some of these dates are yet to be confirmed, but will be set by the end of June. Please mark these on your calendar.

  1. Can one pay the CMP registration fee online? Also your note about the fee says it is $190 but the acknowledgement statement still says $160, you might want to fix that in the online form.
