Rehearsals are scheduled based on the schedules on the group members and coach.

Where are rehearsals held?

Rehearsals are held at a space that is most convenient for the group and coach. This can be a member's home, a coach's home, USU, local library rooms, etc.

What is unique about the Chamber Music Project?

Students have the opportunity to work one on one with professional musicians that perform and teach internationally. Through masterclasses with the Fry Street Quartet and Weber State Faculty, students make professional connections and have opportunities to learn from incredible teachers. Each spring, at our mega concert, students have the opportunity to interact and perform with the guest artists brought in by the Chamber Music Society of Logan

Why should my student participate in the Chamber Music Project?

Chamber music develops a musician's skills in an entirely different way than orchestra. Each member of the group is responsible to learn their own part and lead out as a member of the ensemble. The strongest orchestra musicians are those who also do chamber music. If your student wants to be challenged and encouraged to grow, chamber music is the way to go. In addition to musical growth, chamber music gives students the opportunity to build friendships and connections with other young musicians and develop communication and collaboration skills that will be benefit them now and in the future.

Can my student be in a group with friends?

Students can sign up as a pre formed group (String quartet with 2 violins, viola, cello/Piano trio with violin, cello, piano) that is guaranteed to stay together. They can also request to be placed with a specific friend. Those requests will be honored if possible, but cannot be guaranteed.

How are groups decided?

All students audition before the season begins. After auditions, students are placed into ensembles based on age, level, ability, and available instrumentation. Requests are considered within these parameters.
