The Chamber Music Project

Welcome to the Chamber Music Project!

At CMP, our goal is to enhance student's musical experience through playing chamber music. Chamber music is the shining jewel of the string player's musical journey. Through ensembles, students enhance their technical skills, develop leadership and team building, learn how to listen and work together with other students, and gain opportunities to perform and share their musical journey with others. Most of all, it is fun! We aim to accomplish these goals while supporting school orchestra programs and helping musical students build friendships and connections with professional musicians such as the Fry Street Quartet, Weber State faculty and world renowned musicians brought in by the Chamber Music Society of Logan.

Students in the Chamber Music Project must be in 6th grade or older for the current school year and are strongly encouraged to participate in their school orchestra program. They must have at least two years of playing experience on their string instrument and play at a Suzuki book 3 level or above. All students are required to take private lessons and must audition on their instrument to demonstrate playing level and ability.

We offer a week long intensive summer program, as well as a long term program that runs from September through March. During the school year, students have 15 rehearsals, scheduled weekly around holidays and school breaks. These rehearsals are scheduled dependent on student and coach's personal schedules, which can be flexible for those with busy schedules. Masterclasses with the Fry Street Quartet and Weber State Faculty are offered, and the season culminates with a competition and mega concert where student have the opportunity to perform with the guest artists invited by the Chamber Music Society of Logan.

Registration for Summer camp is held from March-April while registration for Fall is held May-August.
